Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
The Baseball Briefing ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data when you use our website, dashboard, daily briefings, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Information you provide directly:
When you create an account or subscribe, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. Payment details are processed and stored by our third-party payment processor (Stripe) — we do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or banking details on our servers.
Information collected automatically:
When you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This data is collected through standard server logs and is used to maintain and improve the Service.
2. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect or process your data:
| Service | Purpose | Data Involved |
|---|---|---|
| Memberstack | User authentication and account management | Email, name, login credentials, membership status |
| Stripe | Payment processing and subscription billing | Payment method, billing address, transaction history |
| Netlify | Website hosting and content delivery | Server logs (IP address, browser info, page requests) |
| Google Fonts | Typography rendering | IP address (per Google's standard font serving) |
Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their respective policies for details on how they handle your data.
Stripe processes payment data on our behalf as a payment processor. Stripe collects payment method details, billing address, and contact information during checkout in order to complete the transaction and prevent fraud. Stripe may set its own cookies on Stripe-hosted checkout pages to manage your session and perform fraud detection. Stripe's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy. Sales tax obligations, where applicable, are the responsibility of The Baseball Briefing.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to deliver the daily briefing and dashboard to your account, process your subscription payments, send you service-related communications (such as account updates), improve and maintain the Service, and respond to your questions or support requests.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Communications
We do not send marketing emails or promotional campaigns. Service-related messages are limited to account authentication (password resets, account confirmations), billing notices from Stripe, and important service updates. The daily briefing itself is published to your dashboard — not emailed out.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use minimal cookies necessary for the Service to function. Specifically, our authentication provider (Memberstack) uses cookies to keep you logged in between visits. We do not currently use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics tracking tools. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and notify you.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you cancel your subscription and request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
Payment transaction records may be retained by Stripe, our payment processor, in accordance with their data retention policies and applicable financial regulations.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Authentication and payment processing are handled by industry-standard providers with their own security certifications.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including:
Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: You can request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data, subject to any legal retention requirements.
Portability: You can request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
Opt-out: You can opt out of all non-essential service communications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at @thebasebriefing on X. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
9. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. As noted above, we do not sell your personal data. To submit a request, contact us at @thebasebriefing on X.
10. Age Restriction
The Service is not directed to children. Two distinct rules apply:
COPPA (children under 13): We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal data may contact us at @thebasebriefing on X.
Service age requirement (under 21): Per our Terms of Service, the Service is intended only for users 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly maintain accounts for users under 21, and we reserve the right to terminate any account we discover to belong to a person under that age.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
